Max Steinmetz's heartbreaking Holocaust™ story - "Dr. Mengele greeted me at Auschwitz with a leather whip"

Max Steinmetz speaking to high school students

Max says he was taken to Auschwitz along with his family when he was 18 years old.

Upon arrival at Auschwitz, The Angel of Death Dr. Joseph Mengele was standing there holding a leather whip to greet them.

Mengele would decide their fate by either pointing to the left or the right.

His parents and sister were sent to the left, and were taken immediately to the gas chambers, gassed, then burned in the incinerators. At least that's what another inmate told him.

He says their ashes were spread into surrounding fields.

Max "miraculously" survived the "death camp" of Auschwitz, only staying there a few months before being transferred to Dachau.

Steinmetz now lives in Alabama and travels around to schools telling his tale to young children so that they “remember to never allow another Holocaust to happen” because “it can happen again.”
